A through assessment of height, weight, BMI, Fat percentage, muscle mass and the nutritional needs of an individual is carried out and based on the clients, a fully customized diet plan is given. Often, only dietary intake is sometimes insufficient, hence Eating timings and Lifestyle Modification counselling is also given to achieve the best result in a short period.

Pilates

The Pilates approach to exercise is unique and different than you have ever experienced before. It is not only a series of exercises; it is a pathway to healthier and happier living. Physiotherapy (PT) and Pilates often go hand in hand, PT helps in reducing Pain and Impairment, while Pilates help in strengthening and developing a good control to ensure that the function is restored. Pilates can be done simple on a Mat or can be equipment based like Reformer, Cadillac, Trapeze, Chair and many more. There are nine fundamentals of Pilates Exercise which are as follows Breathing, Concentration, Control, Centring. Precision, Balanced Muscle Development, Rhythm Flow, Whole Body Movement, Relaxation.

At Physiofit, we cater a therapeutic mixture of Physiotherapy and Pilates to our patients and offer a comprehensive program based on their requirements. Pilates is a form of low impact exercise that aims to achieve your fitness goals. Hence, during the acute pain also, it helps in achieving your ability to perform exercise using body weight/gravity assisted or resisted movements. It is a full body exercise method and helps you bring a change in your body every session.

Areobic Exercise

Aerobic/Cardio Exercises are important for Heart Health post any Cardiac Event. While planning an aerobic exercise program for cardiac patients, it is important that all the vital parameters like Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Electro-Cardiogram and Oxygen Levels are also considered. These exercises are always progressive and symptom limited.Every Patient Exercises are Tailor made based on patients co-morbid conditions like Age, Series of Cardiac Events, Ejection Fraction and Symptoms. Based on these factors,Maximum Heart Rate and Target Heart Rate is determined followed by an Exercise Prescription.  Equipment that are often used for delivering aerobic exercises are Treadmill, Cycling, Elliptical and Steppers.

Resistance Training

One of the aspect which is very important in Cardiac Rehab is Strength training  and Conditioning for cardiac rehab patients. After the Bypass or Angioplasty, we gradually ask the patient to start lifting weights. Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Experts guide the patients to start with gradual weight lifting and aerobic conditioning with appropriate medical supervision. Patients perform exercises over a period of 1 month to 2 years depending on their requirement to achieve the possible physical demand post-surgery.
At Physiofit, we have seen more than 300 Cardiac Patients, out of which many have gone to being Runners and weight Lifting experts post their cardiac event. However, this is achieved with due time and a diligent training.
